About Us

Morgan Vane
Founder

I attended college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, and graduated with a B.S. in Geology in 2010. After college, I worked at the south rim of the Grand Canyon and for Google Maps in Seattle before finding my way to the mining industry. I started out in mineral exploration working for a large mining company, which gave me the opportunity to expand my greenfields and brownfields exploration skills, as well as experience with project management. Over the next few years, I worked in Environmental Geology doing reclamation, and for a geotechnical engineering firm building deep excavations and transit tunnels in an urban setting. Since then, I have moved back into the mining industry, in the area where I began my professional career, and started Tamarack Geologic Services with my husband. I love getting out in nature, and there’s nothing that makes me happier than exploring new places, seeing what’s around the next bend in the trail. I’m an avid birder, enjoy hiking, traveling, and eating delicious food.

Dale Moore
Founder

I earned a B.S. in Geology from Western Washington University in 2009 and have since built a career as an exploration and production geologist, working in Idaho, Washington, and Alaska. My expertise includes geotechnical engineering, and I hold professional geology licenses in both Washington and Idaho. I’ve also gained valuable experience in corporate development with a large mining company, providing me with a strong understanding of the factors that contribute to a mine’s profitability. As both a project manager and exploration geologist, I’ve gained hands-on experience in a range of areas, from soil sampling and geologic modeling to rock slope mapping and managing geotechnical exploration programs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether in the woods or on the river, alongside my wife, dogs, and close friends.

Dale Moore and Morgan Vane established Tamarack Geological Services in 2021 with the goal of providing experienced and well rounded geologists to their clients in the western United States and Canada. Their combined technical experience and passion for the natural world around them makes them a uniquely qualified team to lead your exploration project.

Our crew of geologists is the foundation of what we do, we couldn’t get the job done without them. We’re proud to have such skilled and hardworking people on our team.

Meet the crew…

  • Senior Geologist - Kevin Bellamy

Originally from Washington, I have a diverse range of interests and activities that keep me engaged both professionally and personally. I’m passionate about music, reading, and cooking, and I enjoy working on vehicle maintenance and thoroughly researching products before making a purchase. In my free time, I stay active with skiing, climbing, surfing, yoga, and even commercial fishing. Professionally, my interest in geology is driven by a deep fascination with the stories that rocks and minerals can reveal, whether it’s through large-scale mapping and interpretation or analyzing bedding to infer depositional environments. This blend of exploration and inquiry fuels both my career and personal pursuits.

  • Geologist - Chandler Harris

I was born and raised in Maine, and attended the University of Maine at Orono, graduating with my BSc in Geology in 2021. My interests are 3D modeling, drill planning, field mapping and geomorphology. My favorite hobbies almost always entail aspects of physical sciences and exploration; hiking, geologizing, reading, and 3D computing. I'm always keen to talk music of any kind, and will travel vast distances to catch a good show.

Above all though, I love being with my dog Mesa "Big Mesa" Bobesa. See you in the field!

  • Geologist - Levi Fath

Bein' born and raised in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, I have always had a passion for all things outdoors. This made Geology a no-brainer, so I attended West Virginia University and obtained a B.S. in Geology. Upon my time in school, I was able to take on opportunities like mapping volcanic domes in the Inyo chain outside of Mammoth California, Bedrock mapping in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana, and independent research on thermal insulation and deposition of mafic lava flows. These experiences drove me to take on a role as a Junior Geologist in the great state of Idaho to further extend my geologic knowledge and experience.
